Requests for Books from WorldCat
Current Dominican University student, faculty or staff members may request materials through WorldCat. Please first attempt to locate materials in I-Share. If needed materials are not held at an CARLI library, please follow these directions to find the book in WorldCat and have it sent to the Rebecca Crown Library through interlibrary loan.Follow these steps:
- Select WorldCat from the list of databases provided on the library's website.
- Search for the book you want by title, author, or keyword.
- Click on the "Libraries Worldwide" link in the record of the desired item.
- Click on the "ILL" icon at the top left of your screen.
- Type in the information requested (Required fields are marked with an asterisk [*] and labeled in red) .
- Click the "Submit" button. (If you change your mind, you may click on the "Cancel" button to nullify the request.) Your request will then be sent to the Interlibrary Loan Department. All bibliographic information for the requested item will automatically be included.
- Click on "Exit" in the top right hand corner of your screen.
Pick-Up Information, Processing Time, & Loan Periods
You will be notified when requested materials are available. Request items will be available for pick up at the Circulation Desk (first floor) in the Library.The loan period for materials is set by the lending library and varies from 2 weeks to 8 weeks or more.
You may return interlibrary loan materials to the Circulation Desk.
Please allow 10-14 days to receive requested materials.
