Requests for Books from I-Share
When a book you need is not available at the Rebecca Crown Library, it may often be found at one of the other 71 CARLI libraries that share the I-Share online catalog.Current Dominican University student, faculty or staff members can initiate a book request using I-Share Online.
Follow these steps:
- In I-Share, change your search so that you are searching all I-Share libraries. You do this by clicking on the I-Share Libraries button on the left hand side of the toolbar on the top of the screen.
- When you find the book you need, be sure you are in the Full View screen. Click Request on the toolbar at the top of the screen. N.B. You can only request books one at a time. I-Share will not allow you to place requests for multiple books from a titles list.
- Click the drop-down arrow to select Dominican University as your home library.
- Type in your Library Borrower ID. This will be your 14-digit barcode (22911000xxxxxx) number found on your school ID card.
- Type in your last name. Then click the Login button
- Click the OK button to request the first available copy (this is the only option available).
- Type in your Library Borrower ID again and click Submit Request.
You can track its status by viewing your request Information once you access your account from the My Account button.
