The summer institute is a three-day program designed to inform and create awareness of library and information science among potential scholars. It is an excellent way to meet with mentors and explore opportunities in the field. A number of LIS topics will be covered ranging from preparation for graduate studies to librarianship career exploration. Activities such as field trips to academic and local libraries and other cultural centers may also be included. The summer institute held annually at a different host institution from the partner network. The Third LAMP Summer Institute will be held July 8-12, 2009 at the Rebecca Crown Library located at Dominican University in River Forest, IL.

About LAMP
LAMP (LIS Access Midwest Program) is a regional alliance of 10 Midwest universities and their libraries that encourages students from historically underrepresented groups to enter the field of library and information science.
