In 2010, Dominican University, under President Donna Carroll’s leadership, took a landmark step in its commitment to a more just and humane world when it entered into a multi-year partnership with Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC). This partnership, known as a Model Campus Engagement, has the goal of advancing a culture of interfaith cooperation and understanding at Dominican University. During Phase I, IFYC and key stakeholders at Dominican facilitated a process assessing Dominican’s existing culture and assets related to interfaith understanding and cooperation, and conducting a strategic planning process to produce a roadmap for future interfaith initiatives. Phase II focused on program implementation, and Phase III was dedicated to evaluation and sustainability. Dominican University continues its partnership with IFYC as a member of the Vanguard Network.
In addition to our work on campus and within the community of higher education, Dominican University also seeks opportunities to build partnerships with other faith and interfaith communities in the Chicago-land area, particularly in Oak Park and River Forest.
This web resource serves as a communication and organizing tool for interfaith efforts of Dominican University. Dominican's Interfaith Cooperation Committee leads these efforts. The Committee includes students, faculty, staff, and local community partners. If you are interested in learning more about the ICC please contact its co-chairs: Jeff Carlson, Dean of the Rosary College of Arts and Sciences, or Claire Noonan, Vice President of Mission and Ministry.
