Our pre-nursing curriculum focuses on a challenging program of science and liberal arts courses.
Pre-nursing students are required to complete several semester hours of biology, chemistry and
mathematics courses.
Pre-nursing Course Requirements
Natural Sciences [20 semester hours]

Enter the high-tech, fast-paced, rapidly expanding field of nursing through our 2 + 2 program affiliated with West Suburban College of Nursing in Oak Park. Courses at Dominican are standard pre-nursing curriculum accepted at most clinical nursing schools. This can be done in two years but can take longer, depending on a student’s background. Students admitted to West Suburban typically require four semesters to complete the requirements for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Or, complete your bachelor’s degree at Dominican then enter Rush University College of Nursing. For those students who elect this option, a special major in natural science with a concentration in health sciences has been developed. You’ll graduate from Rush University with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
