Today, social workers must be ready to serve the needs of a multicultural society. The challenges posed by poverty, social upheavals and political conflict call for a broader and greater awareness of the entire world in which we live.
To this end, our entire curriculum addresses this global approach with readings, assignments and guest speakers designed to delve deeply into the world of social work. Dominican University is one of the first GSSW programs in the nation to offer this global focus in a master’s of social work program. In addition, students have the option of going abroad for 10 weeks to conduct their final field placement.
