You are one step closer to starting on the journey to obtain your Masters of Social Work degree.
Dominican’s Graduate School of Social Work is the only program in Illinois and one of the first in
the nation to offer a globally focused, family centered concentration. This concentration allows
you to be on the cutting-edge for social work practice in the 21st century. One unique aspect of
the program is the international field placement option that students can take advantage of in
their last semester. With its small classroom sizes and student centered atmosphere, Dominican
provides an opportunity for students to enjoy their academic experience in a welcoming environment.
GSSW students have an opportunity to pursue their MSW’s as a full-time or part-time student. Also, students who have their bachelors in social work from a CSWE accredited program can enter the program as an advanced standing student which will enable them to complete the program in 9 months as a full-time student or over a 2 year period as a part-time student.
We also offer the Type 73 Certification for those students interested in becoming a certified
school social worker and a Gerontology Certificate for those who want to meet the demands of the
older adult population. In order to reach a broader student base, we offer a part-time MSW program
at the University Center of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois.
We look forward to the opportunity to work with you to achieve your academic and professional goals while challenging you to change the world.
