2012 Follett Lecture

Mary Minow, 2011-12 Follett Chair

Ebooks and the Reader

Did you purchase an ebook in the last year? Or did you rent it? Borrow one from your library?  Will the library be able to loan that book to you again next time you need it? Are your ebook reading records confidential? The simple days of libraries purchasing books and lending them to the public are waning in the face of digital data.  What is the state of the art now, and what will the future hold?

Speaker: Mary Minow is currently the holder of the GSLIS Follett Chair.  She is also a member of the National Museum and Library Services Board.  She manages the Stanford Copyright and Fair Use website and founded the Library Law blog.  In addition, she serves on the board of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, as well as the board of the Freedom to Read Foundation.
