Master of Science in Nutrition Program Overview

Collaborative Learning

The M.S. in nutrition emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration by requiring six elective graduate credits in other disciplines, including graduate-level courses from the School of Social Work, the School of Information Studies, Brennan School of Business and the School of Education. You will learn about different professions and different viewpoints by engaging with graduate students in other areas. The program is designed to position your career for success and leadership in today’s health and wellness sector.

Program Overview

  • Time to complete: four semesters as a full-time student
  • Full- and part-time status available
  • Option to complete the Individualized Supervised Practice Pathway (ISPP), which includes an emphasis in cultural diversity in child nutrition, with 1,200 hours of field experience divided between community, clinical, food management and specialty rotations. This meets the requirements to take the Registered Dietitian exam.
  • Classes are offered evenings at our campus
  • Selected courses are available online
  • Advisors will focus on career planning so that your elective coursework and supervised practice rotations will be tailored to your career goals
  • Academic advising will also be available to help you achieve required academic, clinical and professional milestones in the program
