Theresa Schultz, assistant professor of psychology, is a member of a collaborative Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center research team whose preliminary empirical findings on the “Determinants of Quality of Life in Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome” were presented at the juried annual conference of the American Academy of Neurology in Honolulu, HI. In addition, she and Erin Marek ’99 were featured speakers at the annual convention of The Arc of Illinois, an organization serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Their presentation was titled “At the Crossroads of Training and Behavioral Intervention: Creative Training Opportunities and Service Delivery for Children with Developmental Disabilities.” Schultz presented a lecture this fall on “ Talking About Tics: Myths and Mysteries,” a discussion of Tourette Syndrome, to Brookdale Elementary School (Naperville) staff and students.“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
