Johnson’s recent publications include “Use of Simulation to Enhance Undergraduate Financial Forecasting Education” (with Dominican University’s Professor Anne Drougas) in the Journal of Financial Education; “Characteristics and Tables of the Partial Expectation of the Left-truncated Normal Distribution” (with Professor Nick Thomopoulos of the Illinois Institute of Technology) in Proceedings of the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute; “Bringing the Corporation to Life: the implications of biological systems theory for business strategy” (with Professor Syed Imam of the American University at Cairo) in Proceedings of ISOneWorld; “Illustrating Type I and Type II Errors via Spreadsheet Simulation in the Business Statistics Course” (with Anne Drougas) in Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education; and “Some Measures on the Standard Bivariate Lognormal Distribution” (with Nick Thomopoulos) in Proceedings of the Decision Sciences Institute. His recent conference presentations include two papers with R&D personnel from Chicago-based Information Resources, Inc., (“ Evaluation of Distributional Assumptions for Retail Sales Movement Data” and “Application of the Left-truncated Normal Distribution to Store-level QC”) at the INFORMS Marketing Science Conference in Atlanta, GA, and “Analytics Challenges for Consumer Packaged Goods Manufacturers and Retailers” at the Reinventing CPG and Retail Summit in Miami, FL. Johnson chaired reviewed papers for and chaired sessions at the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute Annual Meeting (“Technology Management: Theory Development and Empirical Evidence”) in Toledo, OH; the Decision Sciences Institute Annual Meeting (“Statistical Applications”) in Boston, MA; and the Reinventing CPG and Retail Summit (“ European Analytics and Market Knowledge”). He was named to the Information Technology Committee of the Decisions Sciences Institute and was also named the first chair of Information Resources’ newly formed Analytics Advisory Board. Additionally, Johnson was awarded an “Elevator Grant” from the Coleman Foundation to partially fund a School of Business Entrepreneurs’ Boot Camp at the Unites States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship’s annual meeting.
