Samina Hadi-Tabassum, EdD, assistant professor of education and director of the Bilingual and English As A Second Language programs, is the author of an article entitled “Language Spatialization: Mapping Language in the Brain and the Classroom” that is scheduled to appear in the December 2004/January 2005 issue of Educational Leadership, the journal of the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development. She also presented a session entitled “Moving Beyond the Black-White Binary: Re-examining Racial Identity Theories at the June 2005 National Conference on Race and Ethnicity.“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
