Bonnie Burns, EdD, assistant professor of education and director of the Master of Arts in Education degree programs, in August presented in-service sessions on “Writing in the Content Areas” at St. Christopher School, Midlothian, and a session on “Higher Level Reading Comprehension Activities” at St. Luke School, River Forest. She delivered the “Writing Across the Curriculum” workshop at St. Albert the Great School in Burbank, IL in September.1 Январь 2003 г.
presented "Teaching Reading Across Middle School Content Areas" for the Center for Educational Improvement in July. CEI is a group of school districts in and near New York City that have banded together to share expertise in school governance and professional development. The participants were administrators, curriculum personnel and staff developers from those districts. In June, Burns presented the keynote address, "An Overview of Balanced Assessment," at the Summer Assessment Institute presented by the Schaumburg School District.“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
