Peter Alonzi has been promoted to professor of economics and finance. His most recent article, “ History of the Board of Trade” will appear in the forthcoming History of World Trade Since 1450, McCusker, John J. (ed. in chief). Alonzi serves on the committees that review papers for the Midwest Finance Association and the Southern Finance Association. Along with Dominican Professors Dan Condon and Paul Coe, Alonzi presented “Using a Game Show to Teach Game Theory” at the Illinois Economic Association’s meeting in October 2004. In August 2005 Alonzi was appointed by the Board of Directors of the National Futures Association to serve on its Educational/Testing Advisory Committee.January 20, 2004
Peter Alonzi delivered a lecture on “Future Markets” at Nicholas Copernicus University in Torun´ , Poland in May. He also presented a seminar on “Future Basics” to the Korean Banker Group in the ESL School in August and discussed a paper on “The Impact of Time Duration Between Trades on the Price of Treasury Note Futures Contracts” at the 2003 Illinois Economic Association’s annual conference.July 1, 2003
Peter Alonzi discussed the paper "Solving the Small Business Financing Problem: Factoring Accounts Receivable When Your Client Can Not Borrow" at the Southern Finance Association Meetings in November.“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
