Dominican University Presents Annual Student Fashion Show
Dominican University’s apparel design and merchandising department will present its annual
student fashion show, titled “The Future of Fashion,” on Saturday, April 5 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00
p.m. and on Sunday, April 6 at 3:00 p.m. in Lund Auditorium, 7900 W. Division Street, River
Forest.
The show will feature eco-friendly designs using recycled and sustainable materials as well as
hand-painted and embellished fabrics. Collections include techno-influenced, futuristic fashions
decked out with LED lights and fiber-optics, theatrical costume, special-event clothing, and
retro-inspired classics.
About 40 students majoring in fashion design will exhibit 120 original designs in this
production, which is organized and staged by students majoring in fashion merchandising. Graduating
senior designers will show multiple garments as the culminating work of their college
studies.
Tickets for the show are $12 for adults and $8 for students. Tickets will be available at the
door. For more information, please contact Tracy Jennings, associate professor and department
chair, at (708) 524-6633.
