Dominican University Presents Time for Three
Dominican University’s performing arts center will present the groundbreaking, genre-busting
trio Time for Three on Sunday, March 2 at 3:00 p.m. in Lund Auditorium, 7900 W. Division Street,
River Forest. This young, dynamic ensemble of classically-trained string musicians transcends
traditional classification by interweaving elements of classical, bluegrass and jazz to draw
diverse audiences into concert halls across the country.
Likely to follow a bluegrass standard like “Orange Blossom Special” with a gypsy-tinged
csardas, Time for Three is also comfortable offering original arrangements of shorter classical
works and popular hits ranging from Brahms to the Beatles. Their passion for improvisation and
their incorporation of humor and invention make their concerts spontaneous, joyous
events.
Graduates of Philadelphia’s venerable Curtis Institute of Music, trio members Zach De Pue
(violin), Nick Kendall (violin) and Ranaan Meyer (double bass) have performed with many of the
world’s preeminent conductors and orchestras. Playing 120 concerts each year, including their
enthusiastically-received school and community outreach programs, Time for Three has participated
in a number of educational residencies including Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang
Camp.
The eclectic trio recently collaborated with Branford Marsalis and provided the soundtrack for
the History Channel’s
Spanish American War series. They will soon release
Three Fervent Travelers, their third album.
Tickets for this concert are $24 (general admission). For more information or to order
tickets, call Dominican University’s box office at (708) 488-5000 or visit the website at

Founded in 1901, Dominican University is a comprehensive, coeducational Catholic institution
offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In the 2008 issue of
America’s Best Colleges, U.S. News & World Report again ranked Dominican University in
the top tier of Midwest master’s level universities and as a “best value” for the tenth consecutive
year.
“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
