Dominican University Performing Arts Center Presents Rockapella
Dominican University will present the energetic a cappella group Rockapella on Saturday,
December 15 at 7:30 p.m. The family-friendly show, titled
A Rockapella Holiday, will showcase classic, contemporary and original material drawn from
the group’s multiple holiday recordings, including
Christmas (2000) and
Comfort & Joy (2002). The concert will be held in the Lund Auditorium, 7900 West
Division Street, River Forest.
Rockapella’s first gigs were on the street corners of New York with a hat out at their feet
for money and business cards. They eventually drew the attention of a television producer who
offered them an appearance on the PBS television program
Spike & Co.: Do It A Cappella. Their national debut on PBS soon led to five seasons on
the award-winning television show
Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?
With a strong fan base in both the United States and Japan, Rockapella has released more than
a dozen albums. They have transformed the a cappella genre, adding a surprising range of material
and styles including human beatbox and percussive effects tinged with their unique and infectious
blend of soul, rock and jazz.
Tickets for this concert are $32. For more information or to order tickets, call the Dominican
University Box Office at (708) 488-5000 or order online at www.dom.edu/pac.
