BSB Presents Lecture on Motivation
Dominican University’s Brennan School of Business will present a lecture on reversal theory
and the practice of change by Michael Apter on Tuesday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Springer
Suite of the Rebecca Crown Library, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.
Michael Apter is a research psychologist and the co-founder and director of Apter
International, Inc. He is a proponent of reversal theory, a psychological approach to exploring
personality, motivation and personal change. He is the author of
Dangerous Edge: The Psychology of Excitement,
Motivational Styles in Everyday Life, and
Reversal Theory: The Dynamics of Motivation, Emotion and Personality.
Apter received his doctorate from Bristol University in the United Kingdom and has served on
the faculty of the University of Wales. He has also served as a visiting professor at Purdue
University, Northwestern University, Yale University, Georgetown University and the University of
Chicago, and is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
