DU Presents Annual Brennan Forum
Dominican University’s Brennan School of Business will present its second annual breakfast forum on corporate governance on Wednesday, April 11 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at The Northern Trust Company, 50 S. LaSalle Street, Chicago. The forum is open to the public and includes a Continental breakfast.
The panel will be moderated by Charles Elson, director of the Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware. Panelists will include Edward A. Brennan, retired chairman, president and CEO of Sears, Roebuck and Company; Thomas A. Cole, partner and chairman of the executive committee of Sidley Austin LLP; Michele J. Hooper, co-founder and managing partner of The Directors’ Council; Patrick S. McGurn, senior vice president and special counsel of Institutional Shareholder Services; and Andrew J, McKenna, chairman of McDonald’s Corporation.
Dominican University’s business school was named last year in honor of distinguished Chicago businessman Edward A. Brennan and his wife Lois L. Brennan, a 1955 alumna of the university. Established less than 30 years ago, Dominican University’s Brennan School of Business has developed a reputation for its commitment to business ethics, reflected in the establishment of the Christopher Chair in Business Ethics, its focus on global business and international study, and its dedication to developing students’ knowledge of entrepreneurial business practices.
Space for this forum is limited and reservations must be made by calling the Brennan School of Business at Dominican University at (708) 524-6234.
Founded in 1901, Dominican University is a comprehensive, coeducational Catholic institution offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Dominican offers 50 undergraduate academic programs through the Rosary College of Arts and Sciences and 15 graduate programs through the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, the Brennan School of Business, the School of Education and the Graduate School of Social Work. In the 2007 issue of America’s Best Colleges, U.S. News & World Report again ranked Dominican University in the top tier of Midwest master’s level universities and as a “best value” for the ninth consecutive year.
“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
