DUPAC presents Paul Winter Consort

Dominican University Performing Arts Center presents the Grammy-winning Paul Winter Consort on Saturday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lund Auditorium, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.

The Paul Winter Consort, led by saxophonist Paul Winter, combines elements of African, Asian and South American cultures with jazz, folk, and classical music. One of the earliest exponents of world music, Winter interweaves diverse instruments with extraordinary voices to create a unique musical experience. Winner of four Grammy Awards, he is the recipient of the United Nation’s Global 500 Award, the Award of Excellence from the United Nations’ Environmental Program and the US Humane Society’s Joseph Wood Krutch Medal for service to animals.

Started as a holiday alternative more than 25 years ago, the Winter Solstice Celebration has become one of the most popular holiday traditions at New York City’s Cathedral of St. John the Divine and on NPR.

Tickets for this concert are $35. For more information on the concert or to order tickets, call Dominican University’s Box Office at (708) 488-5000 or visit the website www.dom.edu/pac.

Founded in 1901, Dominican University is a comprehensive, coeducational Catholic institution offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In the 2007 issue of America’s Best Colleges, U.S. News & World Report again ranked Dominican University in the top tier of Midwest master’s level universities and as a “best value” for the ninth consecutive year.

“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
