DU presents lecture on Hispanic, Latino Identities

Dominican University will present a free lecture titled “Who Are We? Dilemmas of Hispanic/ Latino Identities” by Jorge J. E. Gracia on Thursday, October 19 at 2:20 p.m. The lecture, which is part of the university’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, will be held in the Eloise Martin Recital Hall on the main campus, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.

Gracia is the Samuel P. Capen Chair in Philosophy at the State University of New York. He received his master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Chicago and his doctoral degree in medieval philosophy from the University of Toronto. He is the author of Surviving Race, Ethnicity and Nationality in the Twenty-First Century (Rowan & Littlefield, 2005). Born in Cuba, he holds American and Canadian citizenships.
