Women’s soccer advances to NAC semifinals

The Dominican University women’s soccer team advanced to the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) semifinal round with a thrilling 1-0 victory over visiting Lakeland College on Saturday afternoon.

The two teams played to a scoreless tie into the 90th minute before freshman Kelly Adler (Naperville, IL) received a cross from sophomore Mayra Camacho (Summit, IL) and beat the Muskies’ goalkeeper for the game-winning goal with just 24 seconds remaining in regulation.

Freshman goalkeeper Jacqui Lani (Green Bay, WI) picked up her tenth shutout of the season, recording three saves in the process.

The Stars will travel to top-seeded Aurora University for a semifinal match with the Spartans on Tuesday, October 31, at 1:30 p.m. The winner of that match will face the winner of the Edgewood/ Concordia University (WI) match with the time and date yet to be determined.
