Fashion Students Present “Some Like it Haute!”
Dominican University’s fashion design department will present a student fashion show titled “ Some Like it Haute” on Saturday, April 1 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 2 at 3:00 p.m. in Lund Auditorium, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.
More than 85 pieces created by Dominican University students majoring in fashion design will be modeled during the show. Much of the clothing will be grouped into categories inspired by the Victorian era, incorporating recycled materials, or designed for such niche markets as bridal, swimwear, lingerie, men’s wear and children’s clothing. A highlight of the show will be selections inspired by famous artworks. Don’t miss this opportunity to preview the fashion—and designers—of the future.
Tickets for the show are $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for students. For more information or to order tickets, please call Tracy Jennings, assistant professor of fashion, at (708) 524-6633.
Founded in 1901, Dominican University is a comprehensive, coeducational Catholic institution offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Dominican offers 50 undergraduate academic programs through the Rosary College of Arts and Sciences and 15 graduate programs through the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, the School of Business, the School of Education, the Graduate School of Social Work, and the Institute for Adult Learning. In the 2006 issue of America’s Best Colleges, U.S. News & World Report again ranked Dominican University in the top tier of Midwest master’s level universities and as a “best value” for the eighth consecutive year.
“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
