Men’s Basketball Lose in Conference Tourney

Just as it had 19 times throughout the season, the Dominican University men’s basketball team led its opponent, Edgewood College, 32-29 at the half in Sunday’s Lake Michigan Conference (LMC) quarterfinal match up. However, Edgewood outscored the Stars 43-26 over the game’s final 20 minutes en route to a 72-58 victory to advance the Eagles to the semifinal round of the LMC tournament.

Sophomores Mike Haiduc (Chicago, IL) and Ivano Clay (Chicago, IL) led the Stars’ offense with 18 and 12 points respectively. Haiduc also grabbed 11 rebounds for his second double-double effort of the season.

The loss brought the Stars’ season to a close with a 13-13 overall record, going 6-8 in LMC action. The Stars’ 13-12 record in the regular season marked the first winning season the Stars have had in 13 years.
