Women's Basketball back on four-game slide
The Dominican University women’s basketball program is back on a skid after snapping a season-long six-game losing streak with a win against CalTech on December 29.
Last week the Stars fell to Marian College, 67-52, and Edgewood College, which was tabbed to win the conference by the coaches, 74-52. The Stars averaged 27.5 turnovers in the two games and shot 37% from the field and 34% from behind the three-point stripe.
Wioleta Koziol (Mount Prospect, IL) and Nicole Zuhlke (Streamwood, IL) averaged 12.5 points apiece. Zuhlke poured in a game-high 17 points against Edgewood on 5-of-9 shooting from the field.
Sophomore Justine Christian (Cameron, IL) logged 8.0 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game for the Stars. Against Edgewood, Christian poured in 11 points and pulled down 9 rebounds in 37 minutes of work.
The Stars will look to get back on track with a pair of Lake Michigan Conference games at home this week when they host Wisconsin Lutheran College for a 7:00 p.m. game on Wednesday and Marian College for a 2:00 p.m. game on Saturday.
“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
