PAC Presents The Foreigner
Dominican University’s Performing Arts Center will present The Foreigner, one of Off-Broadway’s longest-running hits, the weekend of Friday, February 24 through Sunday, February 26 in the Eloise Martin Recital Hall, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.
Larry Shue’s light-hearted comedy, The Foreigner, premiered Off-Broadway in 1984 and ran for nearly 700 performances. Since then, hundreds of productions of the play have been performed across the country, including a New York revival in 2004 starring Matthew Broderick.
Set in a woodsy fishing lodge in rural Georgia, the play revolves around Charlie, a timid British proofreader who accompanies his more gregarious friend for a few days of R & R. His friend disguises Charlie’s lack of social skills by telling the other lodge residents that he is foreign and doesn’t speak or understand a word of English. The plan unfortunately backfires when Charlie overhears the darkest secrets of his fellow guests, including a plan by a villainous reverend to take over the lodge.
Join the cast and crew of the play for a free discussion after the Friday night production. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 8:00 p.m.; the Sunday performance begins at 3:00 p.m. For more information or to order tickets, contact the Dominican University box office at (708) 488-5000. General admission tickets are $15.

“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
