Dominican Presents Lecture on USA Patriot Act

Dominican University will present a lecture on the USA Patriot Act and how it affects the civil liberties of various communities in our country on Friday, October 21 at 9:30 a.m. in the Social Hall of the main campus, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.

Ed Yohnka, communications director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Illinois, will explain the ACLU’s concerns with the USA Patriot Act and its efforts to prevent Congress from making permanent and expanding sections of the Act that was enacted after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Yohnka will answer questions from the audience following his talk.

For more information on this program, please contact Michelle VanNatta, assistant professor of criminology, at (708) 524-6035.

“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
