DU to Host Outdoor Showing of National Treasure
Dominican University will hold an outdoor showing of box-office hit National Treasure on Friday, September 9 at 9:00 p.m. The movie will be shown on a huge, 25-foot screen in the quad on the university’s main campus, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.National Treasure, a family-friendly action-packed adventure, stars Nicholas Cage as treasure-seeker Benjamin Franklin Gates, one of a large family of treasure hunters, all of whom have searched fruitlessly for a chest hidden by the Knights Templar and kept secret through the ages by Freemasons past and present. Combining history, mystery and witty repartee, the film breathlessly depicts Gates’ discovery of clues to the location of the treasure on items such as U.S. currency, the Liberty Bell and the Declaration of Independence. Attempting to thwart his quest are an evil competitor and a host of FBI members.
The film is free and open to the public. In the event of rain, the film will be shown in the Social Hall. Call Dominican University’s campus activities at (708) 524-6037 for more information.
