Performing Arts Series Presents Beaux Arts Trio
Dominican University’s Performing Arts Series presents the stellar Beaux Arts Trio on Sunday, April 3 at 3:00 p.m. in the Lund Auditorium, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.During five decades of making music, the trio, under the leadership of pianist Menahem Pressler, has excited audiences with more than 6,000 live performances and over 60 recordings, including nearly every piece written for a piano trio by the major Classical and Romantic composers. The Beaux Arts Trio has revitalized the 18th century trio form by bringing a sense of adventure to brand new commissions while still sparkling in their performances of traditional chamber works.
The trio debuted in 1955 at the Tanglewood Music Festival and continues to travel extensively throughout the world. For this celebration of their 50th year, Pressler, violinist Daniel Hope and cellist Antonio Meneses will lend their luster to Beethoven, Dvorak and Schubert.
Tickets for this performance are $25 and $35. For more information, please contact the box office at (708) 524-6942.
“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
