Book Club Discusses The Mimic Men
Dominican University’s Book Club will meet on Thursday, April 28 to discuss V. S. Naipul’s The Mimic Men. The book club meets at 7:00 p.m. in Room 003 of the Rebecca Crown Library on the main campus, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest. The book centers on the character of Ralph Singh, a 40-old man of Indian heritage who has been raised in the Caribbean island of Isabella. When Singh is exiled in disgrace from his island, he recalls, in a shoddy London boarding house, the too-large and too-fast events that proved beyond his control and destroyed his political career.

“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
