School of Social Work Offers Ethics Workshop
Dominican University’s Graduate School of Social Work is presenting a workshop on Resolving Ethical Dilemmas in Clinical Social Work Practice on Friday, January 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Priory Campus, 7200 W. Division Street, River Forest.
The workshop is the first offering in the Graduate School of Social Work’s new continuing education program, The Center for Professional Excellence, which has been created to provide knowledge and training to health and human service professionals and students studying to become professional social workers. The workshop offers four CEU credits for professionals and is open to the public at no charge.
Facilitated by Kathleen E. Murphy, PhD, LCSW, the workshop will include sessions on resolving specific ethical dilemmas facing mental health practitioners in service to families and children, developing guidelines for resolving conflicts of values and duty, and meeting needs within the community.
Dr. Murphy is in the private practice of clinical social work, where she specializes in working with families and children with chronic disease, disability and terminal illness.
Dominican University’s Graduate School of Social Work is the first MSW program to specialize in a globally focused curriculum. The program, which offers overseas field experiences, is fully accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE).
For more information on this workshop, please call the Graduate School of Social Work at (708) 366-3463 or visit the Web Site at www.socialwork.dom.edu.
“As a student I wanted an intimate community. As an aspiring journalist I wanted a big city. Dominican gave me both—and so much more.”
