Lecture on Ministry in the Immigrant Community
Dominican University’s Siena Center continues its series on Diversity, Immigration and Justice with a lecture on “Ministry in the Immigrant Community: What We’ve Learned” on Thursday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Priory Campus, 7900 W. Division Street, River Forest.Father Charles Dahm, author of Parish Ministry in a Hispanic Community, a book based on experiences collected from 20 years as pastor of St. Pius V parish in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, and Libia Páez-Howard of the Office of Catechesis of the Archdiocese of Chicago will discuss the pastoral challenges of working with a variety of immigrant groups.
The next program in the Diversity, Immigration and Justice series will be a panel discussion on “Community Organizing in Culturally Diverse Neighborhoods” on Thursday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m.
