Knock off Sabres but fall to Muskies

The Dominican University women’s soccer team split a pair of games against two Lake Michigan Conference (LMC) opponents last week, knocking off Maranatha Baptist Bible College (MBBC) 6-2 last Wednesday but falling to Lakeland College 3-0 on Saturday.

In the win over MBBC, the Stars trailed 2-0 at the half but rallied with six unanswered goals in the second half to earn the victory. Senior Renee Vai poured in five goals for the Stars, including the game-winner in the game's 82 nd minute. Junior Jessica Levitt scored a goal and added two assists in the winning effort.

Senior goalkeeper Nicole Miller recorded four saves in the full 90 minutes of action to earn her second win of the season.

The Stars then traveled to Sheboygan, WI, on Saturday to take on Lakeland.  The Stars' offense managed just three shots against the Muskies' defense, as the Stars were out-shot 30-3. Miller played outstanding in net, turning away 12 shots in 90 minutes.

The Stars will look to climb back above .500 on Wednesday, September 15, as they host Concordia University of Wisconsin for a 1:30 p.m. game.
