Dominican Stars knock off Wisconsin Lutheran
The Dominican University women’s soccer team kept its record at .500 (3-3) with a split against a pair of Wisconsin opponents this week.
On Wednesday, the Stars hosted Concordia University (WI) and fell 3-0 to the Falcons. Senior goalkeeper Nicole Miller was outstanding in net for the Stars, recording 13 saves in 90 minutes as the Falcons out-shot the Stars 25-2.
The Stars then bounced back with a 2-1 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday, behind two first-half goals by senior Renee Vai.
Miller was again outstanding in net with six saves, pushing her season total to 44 saves in six games, an average of over seven saves per game. Miller also recorded her first collegiate assist, assisting on Vai’s first goal of the game.
The Stars return to action on Wednesday, September 22, as they host Lake Forest College at 4:00 p.m. and then host Ripon College on Saturday, September 25, for a 3:30 p.m. game.
