Stars Prepared for Conference Tournament

The Dominican University women’s tennis team will enter the 2004 Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference (NIIC) Tournament next week with at least eight wins, double its win total from a year ago despite going 1-2 last week.

On Monday, the Stars hosted Wisconsin Lutheran College, falling to the Warriors 5-4. Sarah Schoo and Eileen Shanahan teamed up for a victory in the #2 doubles position and each were victorious in their respective singles matches.

The Stars then defeated Aurora University on Tuesday 9-0. Schoo and Shanahan were again victorious in the #2 doubles match as were the teams of Laura Grabowski and Michelle Albrecht, and Molly Nolan and Sarah Plovanich.

The Stars then fell to Clarke College on Saturday 9-0 with one match remaining before the conference tournament next Friday and Saturday, October 1 and 2, at Aurora University.
