Local Student Receives Dominican Awards
Jennifer Wagner, a resident of Lyons, was recently honored with Dominican University''s Rising
Star Award as well as the university''s Golden Star Award. The Rising Star Award is presented each
year to students demonstrating true Dominican University spirit in activities both on and off
campus. The Golden Star is awarded to seniors who show outstanding leadership qualities.
During the past academic year Wagner was an endowed scholar and president of the Dominican
University chapter of the American Institute of Graphics Arts, a member of the Dominican University
website redesign committee and a member of the Theotokeion Honor Society. She also served as a
student worker in the undergraduate admissions office where she gave orientation tours to
prospective students and designed the transfer student guide for the university website.
Wagner graduated from the university this spring with a bachelor''s degree in graphic design
and is pursuing a master's degree in marketing at the university. She is production manager for the
university's Office of Marketing and Communications.
Founded in 1901, Dominican University is a comprehensive, coeducational Catholic institution

the Rosary College of Arts and Sciences and 18 graduate programs in four graduate schools through

year.
