Clinical Practice Supervisor for Early Childhood Student Teachers
FSLA Status: EXEMPT (Salary), Part Time

Description:
The Supervisor is responsible for visiting each of 6-8 student teachers five times during the semester, once for an introductory visit, and four times for an evaluation followed by a conference. The Supervisor communicates with the student teacher in between visits as often as necessary, and keeps an open line of communication with the cooperating teacher. The Supervisor is responsible for collecting and reporting the cooperating teachers’ mid-term and final evaluation materials, as well as each student’s mid-term and final Supervisor evaluations.
Competencies (Required knowledge, skills, abilities): Illinois Certification in Early Childhood Education

Primary Purpose // Position Summary:
Dominican University seeks applicants for the position of Director of Special Events in the Office of Institutional Advancement. Reporting to the Executive Director of Constituent Relations, the Director will organize and manage specific events and programs that enhance relationships between potential donor constituents and the university.
Job Components//Principle Duties and Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain an annual special events and stewardship calendar with goals and objectives for the given fiscal year.
- Supervise the university’s annual trustee benefit. This includes, but is not limited to the organization and implementation of all phases of an elegant event including mailings, catering, silent auction and coordination of volunteers. Coordinate with other university offices including the President’s Office, Development, Marketing and Communications, Performing Arts Center and others.
- Plan, manage and execute large meetings and events that advance donor involvement, cultivation and stewardship. Programs and activities are to be reflective of the audience invited.
- Coordinate with appropriate offices one-time events intended to spotlight significant university accomplishments (e.g. program announcements, groundbreakings, dedications, anniversaries, etc.).
- Work in partnership with staff throughout the university to identify and develop existing university activities (e.g. Performing Arts Center, President’s Christmas Party, Rosarians, Scholarship Brunch, commencement, etc.) as opportunities to connect appropriate constituent groups to the university.
- Assist in the coordination of appointments and activities when the President travels for Institutional Advancement purposes.
- Create Presidential Executive Briefings containing pertinent information to be delivered to the President’s Office in a timely manner before selected events and programs.
- Organize a team effort to develop and implement stewardship strategies that strengthen long-term relationships with donors.
- Ensure that details of stewardship plans are compiled and communicated to all involved parties, and that the plans are documented, implemented and included in Raisers’ Edge.
- Create and maintain a system that tracks special moments in the life of the university as well as the lives of the university’s key constituents. For the university, this would include school, building, program and departmental anniversaries. Constituent-based moments involve birthdays, wedding anniversaries, holiday greetings, birth announcements, condolences, etc.
- Write personal acknowledgement and stewardship letters that demonstrate sincere and grateful appreciation of donors.
- Identify best practices at other institutions for special events planning and operation as well as donor stewardship.
- Perform other duties as requested, delegated or assigned.
Experience in orchestrating special events and volunteers is required. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are essential. High personal motivation, organization, and follow-up; the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; teamwork orientation and collegial, collaborative style; understanding of principles and techniques relevant to major gift fundraising; an enthusiasm for meeting and working with a wide range of individuals and a willingness to participate in evening and weekend activities are necessary. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook. Demonstration of integrity, positive attitude and a sense of humor.
Candidates for this position should have a minimum of three years experience working with multiple priorities, preferably in an education setting. Experience in special event planning/donor relations and/or stewardship is highly desirable. A bachelor’s degree is required.
