2012 URSCI Expo

2012 Global Learning Symposium

If you are interested in submitting an application to the brand new Global Learning Symposium which will be held directly after the URSCI Expo reception on April, please click here   The deadline for applications for this symposium (which features presentations by undergrads and graduate students on global or service learning projects) is Friday, February 17.

URSCI's on-line journal will premiere Spring, 2012

The Advisory Committee for the Dominican University Undergraduate Research Journal is pleased to announce the new name of the URSCI on-line undergraduate research journal: "The Constellation: A Journal of Undergraduate Research."  The creative, new title was submitted by Marie-Louise Settem, Instructional Services Coordinator in GSLIS, who asked that the $100 prize be donated to the Sisters' Retirement Fund. 

 

Initiatives

URSCI offers the following initiatives.  To learn more about each initiative and see lists of present and past award winners, simply click on the initiative's name.

  • Undergraduate Research Assistant   (URAP)

  • Faculty may now apply for more than one semester of student assistance. If you wish to apply, please see the link under URAP in the Initiatives section.  The deadline for both Summer and Fall 2012 URAPs is Friday, March 30, 2012.

  • Undergraduate Summer Scholar Program  (USSP)

  • The deadline for Summer 2012 USSP applications is Friday, March 16, 2012.  The 2011 Undergraduate Summer Scholars were Joshua Johnson (Art), John Pontikis (Chemistry), and Kaydene DeSilva (Psychology).   

  • Undergraduate Research Support Awards  (URSA)

  • URSAs are awarded on an on-going basis.  There are no deadlines.  Monies are awarded until funds are depleted.

  • Research for Course Credit

  • Expo

URSCI Expo

Dominican University’s fourth annual Exposition of Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Investigations took place on April 6, 2011, in Parmer Hall.  Thanks to the students who presented, faculty sponsors, moderators, and attendees for helping to make the day such a success.   Please mark your calendars for this year's Expo:  Wednesday, April 4, 2012!
