Nutrition Science Department

Are you interested in nutrition and food? Would you like to know more about the role daily food choices and nutrition play in affecting health? Can you imagine yourself in the food industry business? In Nutrition Sciences at Dominican University, we offer exciting majors that will teach you how to help solve some of the challenging nutritional and health issues around the world.

Food, nutrition, health and food safety affect every person on multiple levels each day. Elevated cholesterol, obesity and excess weight contribute to disease conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, and can be prevented by fundamental nutrition and health awareness. Good nutrition, healthy lifestyles and common food safety improve the quality of life and enable people to lead full and active lives.

A degree in nutrition science leads to many opportunities both within the field of nutrition and food, as well as with other majors such as psychology, computer science, journalism or art.
