Math Preparation

Mathematics is an integral part of engineering. To complete the Dominican/IIT joint engineering program on the five-year schedule, entering students should have taken and mastered the most demanding math their high schools offered.

Dominican freshmen who wish to enter the engineering program will enroll in Math 261 (Analytic Geometry and Calculus I) and PHYS 221 (University Physics I) in their first semester at Dominican. Consult with the program director immediately if this is not the case.
