Admission to Dominican’s engineering program does not guarantee admission to the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Dominican students will need to apply separately to the joint engineering program during their sophomore year.
This new application policy applies to all students who wish to participate in the joint engineering program with IIT to earn any of the following double majors:
Initial Admission Criteria
Enrollment in MATH 261 or higher and:
- CHEM 120 for Chemistry/Chemical Engineering majors
- PHYS 221 for all other majors.
Students must earn a grade of B or better in all required courses in the core disciplines, including:
- Computer Science
If a student earns a grade lower than a B in any of the above courses, the student’s status will be changed to probationary. Admission to the program will be revoked if the student fails to improve in subsequent semesters.
During the first four semesters students must also maintain an overall G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher
We encourage all students to seek academic support immediately if they suspect they may be facing academic difficulties.
