All of the Dominican University community and the general public is invited to a special free screening of the award-winning film Fruitvale Station as part of the university's Diversity Film Festival. There will be two screenings of the film: at 4:30 and 7:00. Both screenings will occur in the Martin Recital Hall. In between the screenings, we will have a panel led discussion of our reception to the film.

Fruitvale Station details the tragic shooting of Oscar Grant, who was senselessly gunned down by BART officers in 2009, and whose murder sent shockwaves through the nation after being captured on camera by his fellow passengers. Winner of both the Grand Jury Prize for dramatic feature and the Audience Award for U.S. dramatic film at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
