Elena Peteva
Elena was born in Bulgaria and came to the United
States to study painting, drawing and printmaking at the Interlochen Arts Academy in 1995. She
received a four-year degree in Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2004 and
an M.F.A. in Painting from Syracuse University in 2007.
Elena teaches Painting, Drawing and Printmaking and maintains an active career as a
representational painter. She exhibits nationally. Some of her recent exhibitions include the
Contemporary Realism Biennial 2010 at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Legacies at the Museum of the
Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and a two-person show at Artists’ House Gallery in
Philadelphia. She is a recipient of three Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grants for
representational art.
