The Graduate School of Social Work’s Center for Professional Excellence (CPE) is committed to
providing professional training opportunities to human service and health professionals as well as
providing MSW students with the skills to become well prepared, professional social workers.
The CPE encompasses the same mission as Dominican’s MSW program which offers a globally
focused and family centered emphasis that focuses on preparing people for service to individuals,
families, groups, communities and the professional world.
CPE workshops, lectures and symposiums are presented by faculty and seasoned professionals in
the field of social work and other disciplines. Our goal is to ensure that you receive
practical training that you can use in your everyday practice.

public discussion and presentations around domestic and international topics.

Customized Training
Dominican University’s Graduate School of Social Work Center for Professional Excellence
(CPE) provides customized training to meet the needs and challenges of social service, governmental
and nongovernmental organizations. For example, instructors can provide training in the areas of
supervision, child welfare, gerontology, school social work, human trafficking prevention, and
community development.
