Brennan student Conrad Sewlinski was profiled on Channel 11's Chicago Tonight program about his participation in Ladder Up. The Ladder Up Program provides free income tax preparation for low-income taxpayers in the Chicago area. In the past 20 years, the program has saved residents more than $300 million. Last year Dominican University volunteers filed the most tax returns of any university group.Watch the video below.

Dominican University Chief Information Officer Jill Albin-Hill, a Brennan School of Business '06 alum, was among three executives to share their experiences as women in higher education IT in a recent article on campustechnology.com. Gera-Lind Kolarik, a Rosary College alumna,
supports Yanfei Hu, a Chinese student in the Brennan School of Business MBA program.
Kolarik met Hu in China when she was visiting the country with her family. Kolarik sponsored Hu's flight to America and her education in the Brennan School of Business. Hu made a video documenting her life in America, which she presented at her former university in China. It received a standing ovation.

Bilu Chen, an accounting major from Beijing was awarded a scholarship from Financial Executives
International. Only a handful of students from Chicago area schools received a
scholarship. Bilu and one other student each received the highest amount of $2,500.
After completing an application and personal statement, Bilu was selected as the DU representative
in the competition. Based on the strength of her documents and a personal interview with FEI
representatives, she was honored at an awards ceremony last week. Information on FEI is also

On July 22, Latino Leaders Magazine presented its Maestro Awards and 10 year anniversary celebration. Roberto Sepulveda, recent Brennan School of Business alum, received the Thought Leader Award. The event was attended by nearly 200 distinguished and influential leaders of the Chicago area, including local dignitaries and corporate leaders.
On May 17, Dominican University dietetic interns, Kamilah Johnson and Sherin Mathews, met with Congressman Danny Davis to propose a bill to mandate that every school should have access to and employ a registered dietitian as a solution to combat the epidemic of childhood obesity.
