  Attend the 12th Biennial Dominican Higher Education Colloquium

Fr. Richard Woods, OPAll are invited to the 12th Biennial Dominican Higher Education Colloquium, which will be held at Dominican University from June 14 to 17, 2012.

The Colloquium is a gathering of colleges and universities affiliated with the Dominican order. This year's event will drill deep into our Dominican traditions: The Contemplative Vision: Love, Truth and Reality.”

Faculty, staff and students from 17 Dominican colleges and universities will participate in this wonderful conversation of the Dominican Family.

Presenters will explore topics revolving around the question "What is distinctive about Dominican higher education?"

Scheduled plenary speakers include Fr. Richard Woods, OP, professor of theology at Dominican; Laurie Brink, OP, associate professor of New Testament Studies at Catholic Theological Union; Patricia Walter, OP, associate professor of systematic theology at Aquinas Institute of Theology; and Paul Murray, OP, an Irish Dominican friar who teaches at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.

Spring Break Trip Lifts the Curtain on Cuba

Thirteen Dominican faculty and staff received a rare behind-the-scenes look at Cuba during a spring break trip organized by Dr. Christina Perez, associate professor of sociology and an expert on the country.

The educational trip followed a similar excursion for students last year, the first short-term U.S. university study trip to Cuba since the Obama administration eased travel restrictions in January 2011.
