August 11, 2017

Tom Gaylord MLIS ’02, faculty services & scholarly communications librarian at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, has been selected to serve as the next editor of Law Library Journal (LLJ), beginning on July 1, 2018.

"I am incredibly humbled and genuinely excited to have been selected as the next editor of Law Library Journal," Tom said. "I look forward to continuing the wonderful work that James Duggan has been doing over the past five years as editor and maintaining the excellence of AALL's flagship journal as the leading voice of our profession."

Tom has served in his current position since 2014. Prior to joining Northwestern, he worked at IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law as the senior research & faculty services librarian and West Group as an attorney editor. Tom has extensive writing and editing experience; from 2007 until January of this year he wrote a bi-monthly column, "Finding Illinois Law," for the Illinois Bar Journal.

Tom graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law and the Dominican University Graduate School of Library & Information Science. His memberships include the Chicago Association of Law Libraries--where he currently serves as treasurer of the Executive Board--and the American Bar Association.
