Lisa Ston ’98 was named head coach of the historic girls volleyball program at St. Francis High School (Wheaton, Ill.) on Jan. 19, 2016. Ston, a math teacher at St. Francis, has been an assistant coach with the Spartans for 16 years. She has been a part of eight state championships at St. Francis, including four consecutive titles.

Ston played volleyball at Dominican University and is married to Steven Ston ’97, who played baseball at DU. Ston was the Stars' captain and Most Valuable Player (MVP) during her final two years at Dominican.

Ston takes over for Peg Kopec, whose 1,238 victories over 40 years top all Illinois High School Association coaches in any sport. To read the full article about Ston's hiring, click here to view Dave Oberhelman's story in the Daily Herald
