Career Opportunities

Communication coursework tends to be broadly focused and multidisciplinary. As such, communication graduates have highly polished speaking and writing skills that help them stand out from the crowd, no matter what type of career they ultimately pursue.

Dominican’s communication programs help students develop what employers call “transferable skills”—the ability to:

  • Work well with others
  • Think critically
  • Learn quickly
  • Ask the right questions.

And their technical skills are good, too, giving Dominican students an edge in a crowded job market.

The skills acquired in the communication majors will prepare students for ethical, informed and rewarding careers in a wide range of fields, including the media, public relations and advertising. Their education will give them the insights they need to serve their respective audiences and to help create a more just world.
