Physics (Minor)

Currently, Dominican offers physics as a minor only. Students who choose a physics minor will learn about the discipline’s basic areas: mechanics, electromagnetism and quantum theory. This knowledge will help prepare students interested in careers in medicine, chemistry, biology, physics and engineering.

Students must complete 18 credit hours, including:
  • College Physics I (211)
  • University Physics II (214)
  • University Physics III (223)
The mission of the physics discipline is to introduce students to the basic areas of physics: mechanics, electromagnetism, and quantum theory. Knowledge of these areas helps students to better understand the underlying principles that govern the world and universe around us. This knowledge will help prepare students interested in careers in medicine, chemistry, biology, physics and engineering.
